I hate that everyone treats Sebastian like he’s the absolute perfect image of what a butler should be and what a butler is. No, no he’s not. Did the artist do any kind of research on English servants? It just seems like s/he threw elements of the butler, the footman, and the valet all into one…
oh for the love of god IT IS FAKE. There are no demon butler/frontmen/valet’s ANYWAY. SUPERNATURAL SERIES. IT IS ALL FAKE. Plus, he kinda has to be like that because Ciel’s other servant’s are useless unless they’re fighting. Calm the fuck down and go outside or something.
I’m not saying it isn’t fake. I am well aware of that. However, there is a difference between fake and not well-researched. My suspension of disbelief won’t stretch so far. It’s relatively easy to find sources on how the servants of a household are expected to appear and behave and those appearances and behaviors are absolutely imperative to keeping their jobs. Failure to do so will reflect badly upon the family the servant, be they man or woman, serves. English society at that time period was very strict about things like that so Sebastian looking the way he does and the other three behaving and acting the way they. I only wrote this because I am bothered by the inaccuracies.
In response to your statement that I should calm the fuck down. I’m not upset over it. Merely annoyed, and I’m entitled to write about that annoyance on my blog that is for my personal use. You’re entitled to your own opinions just like I’m entitled to mine, so let’s just leave it at that, eh?
Also as a minor aside, I’m outside everyday because, much to my dissapointment, nobody has figured out how to teleport so I must instead rely on my feet to get me to and from class every day.
^^ Okay, I guess it’s time to give my opinion. Sebastian is a demon who made a contract with Ciel so that’s why he isn’t addressed as Mr. Michaelis, there’s no real need for it and because he saved the servants from something in their past, they feel very close to him and don’t feel the need to call him so formally either. Sebastian does all the jobs because it’s his duty to uphold the Phantomhive name for his “master”, Ciel. He didn’t hire the servants because they had the skills of servants but as fighters and their job is simply to protect the mansion which they do very well. Sebastian does a heck of a job as the butler and in all the other things he does for Ciel. At least you can’t rant that he calls Ciel by his first name. -.- Anyways, this anime/manga was meant to entertain it’s viewers/readers and it does just that. I’m sure there are plenty of mangas or just plain books that have many inaccuracies in them but you still enjoy to read them. That’s the point of Black Butler; to entertain the people. So please, when you rant about something at least have a good enough reason. Not liking it because you think the butler should stick to being a butler and nothing more, is not a good reason. ^^ Thanks anyways and try again.
